AITA for having my neighbor’s cars towed from my garage?

Oh, this is one heck of a story! Imagine the shock of seeing strangers’ cars parked in your own garage during construction, then dealing with the chaos that follows. The OP’s decision to call a tow truck definitely set off a chain of events that escalated quickly, especially when the neighbors started complaining about the fees and the disruption to their lives. On one hand, it’s understandable to be furious when people trespass on your property, especially when it’s a work-in-progress and there’s no permission given. On the other hand, it’s also easy to see why neighbors might feel it was an overreaction, particularly if they didn’t expect the consequences to be so extreme. The tension over the towing fees and the confrontation with the upset neighbor makes this situation even more complicated. But at the end of the day, they were in the wrong by using someone else’s garage without permission. Still, as the OP is seeing, it’s tough when you’re the one who gets painted as the bad guy by the whole neighborhood. Do you think the OP should have handled it differently, or were the neighbors in the wrong here?
