Wrist Ganglion (Synovial Cyst) A wrist ganglion is a fluid-filled lump that commonly forms on the back or front of the wrist. While benign, it may cause discomfort or limit movement. Causes: Repetitive wrist use (e.g., typing, sports), Previous injuries, Arthritis, Genetic predisposition, Symptoms: Visible, soft lump on the wrist Pain or discomfort during movement Numbness or pressure if it compresses a nerve Treatment Options: Observation: If painless, it may resolve on its own. Immobilization: A splint or brace can reduce pressure and prevent growth. Aspiration: Draining the fluid with a needle, though recurrence is possible. Surgery: For severe pain or limited mobility, surgical removal reduces recurrence risk. Consult a doctor for personalized diagnosis and treatment
