What Are Eye Floaters?

Posted on March 21, 2025 By Admin

In some cases, they can be linked to serious conditions like retinal tears, detachment, or eye inflammation (uveitis). Trauma or medical conditions like diabetes may also contribute. If you suddenly notice a significant increase in floaters, flashes of light, or a dark curtain over your vision, seek medical attention immediately. # When to See a Doctor – Most floaters are harmless, but if they appear suddenly, increase rapidly, or come with flashes of light or vision loss, see an eye specialist. Regular exams help monitor changes and rule out serious issues. Managing Floaters – Floaters often fade over time as the brain adapts. If they’re very bothersome, treatments like laser therapy or vitrectomy (removing the vitreous) may help, though these are typically for severe cases
