*Frisco, Texas Grieves Loss of 17-Year-Old Austin Metcalf* Frisco is mourning the tragic loss of Austin Metcalf, a 17-year-old student-athlete from Memorial High School who was fatally stabbed during a track meet on April 2. The incident happened around 10 a.m. at David Kuykendall Stadium. Austin and his twin brother, Hunter, were resting under their team’s tent when another student, Karmelo Anthony, 17, from Centennial High School, entered uninvited. A brief verbal exchange turned violent when Anthony allegedly pulled a knife from his backpack and stabbed Austin in the chest. “I looked at my brother… I tried to help him,” Hunter recalled. Austin died in his arms before first responders could save him. Described as a bright, strong, and compassionate leader, Austin’s death has left his family and community devastated. “He was a big brother, even though we’re the same age,” Hunter said. Anthony was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. His bond is set at $1 million. Austin’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. *Rest in peace, Austin.*
