He was 78 years old. The cause of death was complications from cancer, as confirmed by his family.
Over four decades, Margolis became a key figure in shaping the look and rhythm of live TV shows that became part of American pop culture.
His calm approach and focus on quality made him a trusted name behind the scenes of major televised events. Margolis began his career holding cue cards for his uncle, Monty Hall, on “Let’s Make a Deal.” That early job led to a lifetime in television.
