Dyshidrotic eczema, also known as pompholyx, is a chronic skin condition marked by small, itchy blisters, primarily on the palms, fingers, and soles. It often appears symmetrically and resolves with scaling after a few weeks. Though not curable, it is manageable. Eczema, a group of inflammatory skin conditions, affects an estimated 35 million people in the U.S., with about 70% of cases occurring in children under five. Common triggers include allergic reactions and genetic factors, though eczema is not contagious.
