Gene Hackman, 95, and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 65, were found dead in their Santa Fe home Wednesday night, along with their pet dog. Hackman’s daughters, Elizabeth and Leslie, released a statement: “With great sadness, we announce the passing of our father, Gene Hackman, and his wife, Betsy. He was loved by millions but, to us, he was always Dad and Grandpa. We are devastated.” Investigation Ongoing Authorities initially ruled out foul play but later deemed the deaths “suspicious.” Arakawa was found in a bathroom with an open pill bottle, while Hackman was near the kitchen mudroom. Their German Shepherd was also found dead. Carbon monoxide poisoning was suspected but ruled out. The cause of death remains unknown, pending autopsy results
