Crunchy Pink Surprise on Wall—What’s Really Going on Inside Your Home?

Posted on July 1, 2025 By Admin

On Tuesday morning, I noticed a strange pink foam on my kitchen wall—about 8 cm long, bent and crunchy-looking, like a dried-up shrimp or candy.

Confused and uncaffeinated, I posted it on Reddit. Theories flooded in: insulation foam, bug casings, alien larvae.

It didn’t smell or move, and there was no visible source.

Then my landlord appeared, wiped it away with a disinfectant wipe, and said it was “probably sealing foam.” Case closed, apparently.

My guess? Old expanding insulation foam that oozed out from a crack or screw hole. Or maybe something weirder. Still don’t know. My advice? Don’t touch unknown substances, take photos, look for hidden cracks, and ask maintenance. If it crunches—definitely post it online.
