Brandon Blackstock, a well-known Hollywood talent manager and former husband of singer Kelly Clarkson, has passed away at the age of 48 after a three-year battle with cancer. His family confirmed that he died peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, and expressed gratitude for the public’s thoughts and prayers while asking for privacy during this difficult time.
Blackstock shared two children, River Rose, 11, and Remington Alexander, 9, with Clarkson, and had two older children, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage.
He was also the stepson of country music legend Reba McEntire, who was married to his father, Narvel Blackstock, until 2015. Known for his work in the entertainment industry, he managed Clarkson’s career during their marriage and also represented artists like Blake Shelton.
Kelly Clarkson and Brandon first met in 2006 and later reconnected at the 2012 Super Bowl, leading to their engagement and wedding in 2013. Clarkson has spoken openly about the positive impact Brandon had on her life during their early years together, even inspiring her song “Piece by Piece.”
However, after seven years of marriage, Clarkson filed for divorce in 2020, with the separation finalized two years later.
