Charlie Griffin, a former cast member of Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks, died in a boating accident Sunday night off the coast of North Carolina. He was with a friend when their boat failed to arrive in Wanchese for scheduled repairs. The Coast Guard said the two men, from Virginia Beach, were last heard from around 6:15 p.m. Their empty vessel was found Monday. Inside were the bodies of Griffin and his dog, Leila. As of Monday night, the other boater remained missing. Griffin’s death was confirmed in a post on his Reels of Fortune Facebook page: “It is with the deepest sadness that we report that Charlie Griffin and his beloved dog, Leila, have died in a boating accident today.” Griffin appeared on Wicked Tuna from Seasons 2 through 5.
