Bar’s Front Door Sign ‘Sparks Outrage’, Manager Claims It’s ‘Increased Business’

Victor Fiorillo went to the Old Philadelphia Bar looking for a beer and good company.

He noticed a sign on the window that said, “If you’re not proud to be an American, do not bother to come in.”

Inside, a man jokingly claimed to be a Mexican firefighter before playing “God Bless the USA,” which everyone sang along to.

The bar prides itself on patriotism, cheap beers, and being free of hipsters and yuppies.

Some locals, especially those who are not white men, feel unwelcome or afraid to visit because of the sign. When the sign’s photo spread on social media, it sparked outrage. The bar manager defended the message, saying everyone in the country should be proud to be American. What do you think about the sign?
