Ischaemic heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, with 8.9 million deaths from cardiovascular diseases in 2019, according to the World Health Organization. Many heart attacks are preceded by prodromal symptoms that often go unnoticed. Symptoms can include: Fatigue: Extreme tiredness due to narrowed arteries, reducing blood flow to the heart. Shortness of breath: Occurs when the lungs don’t receive enough oxygen, potentially signaling heart failure. Weakness: Sudden, unexplained weakness may suggest underlying heart issues. Dizziness and cold sweats: Can result from poor circulation and should not be ignored. Flu-like symptoms: Some individuals report flu-like symptoms days before a heart attack. Chest pressure: Gradual chest pressure often precedes a heart attack. Swollen feet: Caused by heart failure, leading to fluid buildup in the legs and feet
