The “Hands Off!” rallies, organized in opposition to President Trump and DOGE Director Elon Musk, drew large crowds in Washington, D.C. The protests also sparked controversy after several Democratic lawmakers made inflammatory and xenophobic remarks about both Melania and Musk. Critics targeted Musk’s South African heritage and questioned Melania’s citizenship status, despite her having become a U.S. citizen in 2006.
