4 Subtle Signs on Your Face That Could Signal Health Problems

Posted on June 25, 2025 By Admin

Your face can reveal signs of underlying health issues.

Xanthelasma are yellowish bumps near the eyelids caused by cholesterol buildup.

Though harmless, they may signal high cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid issues, or heart disease risk.

About half of those with xanthelasma have high cholesterol, often due to genetics or liver problems. Managing cholesterol, blood pressure, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle can reduce risk.

Angular cheilitis is cracking or soreness at the corners of the mouth, often linked to infections, aging, dry mouth, or deficiencies in B vitamins, iron, or zinc. It’s common in older adults and those with dentures. Addressing nutritional deficiencies and underlying conditions can help prevent and treat it. Persistent symptoms should be checked by a doctor.
